We are just a day away from Apple’s October 13 event wherein the firm is expected to launch the iPhone 12 series. As it has been rumoured since earlier this year, the line up may include as many as four smartphones – iPhone 12/iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
We have already talked about the three iPhones and in this one we are rounding up all the rumours revolving around the company’s largest and most powerful iPhone in the upcoming series – iPhone 12 Pro Max.
It has been rumoured that iPhone 12 Pro Max will have flat size bezels like the rest in the series. There will also be a new ‘Navy Blue’ colour variant this time. It may also share a lot of its features and specs with that of iPhone 12 Pro except for a bigger screen size and more battery capacity.
It is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED screen coming from Samsung with Y-OCTA support and XDR support as well. Promotion, as we have mentioned before for other models as well, might not be there this time. The screen resolution, however, will be 2778 x 1284 pixels. Powering the handset will likely be Apple A14 Bionic processor, which has already been revealed by the firm in the latest iPad. This chipset is said to have been made by TSMC using 5nm process.
As for the RAM and storage, something that Apple never reveals officially, the rumoured iPhone 12 Pro Max could sport 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage for the base model. It can go up to 256GB and 512GB as well.
Coming to the cameras, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is rumoured to sport three sensors at the back along with a LiDAR sensor for better depth recognition. The zooming tech, however, is said to be improved a bit this time. At the front, the notch size is said to stay the same but the Face Unlock will be faster than before.
Finally, for the battery, the 6.7-inch model can come with a 3,687mAh battery capacity, which will around 1,000mAh more than what is rumoured for small-sized iPhone 12 Pro.
Like it has been rumoured for other iPhone 12 models as well, this too may not come with a charger and Earpods inside the box. This may help Apple keep a balanced price for the product. Rumours and speculation point towards a $1,099 cost. However, nothing can be confirmed till Apple says so on October 13.
