In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir the advance registration of the pilgrims for Annual Amarnath Yatra 2021 pilgrimage will begin from April1.
The registration will be done through 446 designated branches of Punjab National Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank and YES Bank, located in 37 States and UTs.
This year the Yatra will commence on June 28 and will conclude on August 22. The decision over the commencement of 56 day long Amarnath pilgrimage from June 28 this year was taken in a meeting of the board of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) which was chaired by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) couple of days ago. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic across the world, the Amarnath Yatra was cancelled last year.
To keep religious sentiments alive, the Shrine Board said that it will continue the live telecast/ virtual darshan of the morning and evening Aarti besides that the traditional rituals will be carried as per past practice.
Considering the carrying capacity of the existing tracks and other available infrastructure in the Yatra area, the Board decided to enhance the daily route-wise Yatri ceiling from 7500/Day/Route to 10,000/Day/Route, excluding Yatris who would travel by helicopters, would be allowed to secure Advance Registration for the pilgrimage.
The Board has advised all the potential pilgrims to consult their doctors before embarking on the pilgrimage.
