Air India reduces fare cap on Srinagar-Delhi flights to under ₹7k

The Air India today further reduced its maximum fare on flights connecting Srinagar to Delhi to under 7000 rupees, for the facilitation of Amarnath Yatris and tourists leaving Kashmir following Friday’s government security advisory.

The fare cap shall remain in place till August 15. Airlines Officials said that fare had been reduced from 9500 rupees on the sector this morning. The Civil Aviation Ministry yesterday advised State Carrier Air India to keep fares from Srinagar in check as Amarnath pilgrims and tourists rushed to the airport after the Jammu and Kashmir administration asked them to curtail their stay in the state.

The Airlines had also been asked to operate additional flights as per the need. On Friday, the Army & Police citing intelligence inputs had said that Pakistan based Lashkar, Jaish & Ansar Ghazwatul Hind terrorist outfits were planning to target the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and tourists.
