GST Reforms to Ease Healthcare Costs, Enhance Quality of Life, Says Union Health Minister J P Nadda

Union Health Minister J P Nadda has said that the GST reforms will reduce healthcare costs and improve the lives of people. In a social media post, Mr Nadda said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Next Generation GST reforms reaffirm the government’s commitment to the poor and middle class. He said the GST on 36 life-saving drugs, including cancer and rare disease treatments, has been reduced to zero per cent. Mr Nadda said, GST has been exempted from health and life insurance. He also informed that GST on medicines, medical devices and diagnostics have also been reduced. The Minister said the decision marks a giant step towards affordable healthcare for all.
