HM Amit Shah addresses 150th anniversary celebration of Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple in Mumbai

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today commended the contributions of Madhavbaug over the past 150 years across social, educational, medical, and religious domains.

Speaking at the 150th anniversary celebration of Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple in Madhavbaug, Mumbai, he emphasised that the organisation, established during British rule, has played a significant role in the nation’s religious and cultural life.

He highlighted Madhavbaug as a centre that fosters children’s connection to their mother tongue and urged its trustees to develop it into a hub for Gujarati and Marwadi culture in the heart of Mumbai.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, addressing the gathering, acknowledged Madhavbaug’s substantial efforts in uplifting society and preserving India’s cultural heritage.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra’s Minister for Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Mangal Prabhat Lodha; Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Rahul Narwekar; and other dignitaries.
