BJP Accuses Congress Of Insulting Dr. Ambedkar, Demands Apology

BJP today continued its attack on Congress accusing the opposition party of regularly insulting the architect of the Constitution Dr. B R Ambedkar. Briefing the media in New Delhi, senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that it was Congress which ensured Dr Ambedkar’s defeat in 1952 Lok Sabha polls and later in by-polls in 1954. He also said Dr Ambedkar was forced to resign from the Jawaharlal Nehru government and was not awarded Bharat Ratna during its rule. Mr Prasad also quoted the resignation letter of Dr Ambedkar to target the opposition party. He also said the Congress did not build any memorials in the name of Dr Ambedkar. The BJP leader accused the Congress of being hypocritical on the issue of giving respect to the architect of the Indian Constitution. He asked Congress to tender an apology for humiliating Baba Saheb.
