Visit By Armenian Parliamentary Delegation Would Further Strengthen Our Bilateral Ties: President Droupadi Murmu

A parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Armenia, led by Alen Simonyan, President of the National Assembly of Armenia, called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. Welcoming the delegation, the President recalled the centuries-old cultural linkages between India and Armenia and the multifaceted contemporary relationship based on shared democratic values. The President also noted the close cooperation between the two countries at global multilateral fora and appreciated Armenia’s membership in the International Solar Alliance as well as its participation in all three Voice of Global South Summits.

President Murmu expressed India’s willingness to continue contributing to capacity building and skill development in Armenia through various development partnership programs. The President also highlighted the need to expand bilateral trade and enhance both physical and financial connectivity between the two countries. President Murmu emphasised that regular parliamentary dialogue plays an important role in enhancing understanding of each other’s systems of governance and laws. The President said that this visit by the Armenian parliamentary delegation would further strengthen our bilateral ties.
