The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested the working president of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee PPCC and former Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu in tender allotment scam yesterday. The State Vigilance Bureau had exposed the scam. Ashu was summoned for investigation by ED and questioned about his role in the scam related to transportation of grains from mandis. The state vigilance bureau had found that food grains were transported in vehicles bearing registration numbers of scooters. He was named accused by the bureau and beneficiary of funds over 2 crore Rs. were siphoned through fake bills. He was food and supply Minister in the Captain Amarinder Singh government.
