Ramanyan-era structures & architectures being identified and to be renovated in Ayodhya



To identify, assess and renovate all Ramayan-era monuments and locations in Ayodhya, the Uttar Pradesh government has hired a Delhi-based architect to find out all historic sites in the district. According to the district administration, more than 60 such bodies of water, temples and mutts were found during this inspection. Local historians are also assisting the team in gathering information on Ramayan-era architecture. According to RP Yadav, regional tourist officer in Ayodhya, the government wants to protect Ayodhya’s ancient monuments. Antara Sharma, a Delhi-based architect, and her team recently studied ancient water bodies, mutts and temples in Ayodhya.

All such structures would be identified during this survey, he added. Following the survey, the Ayodhya administration would act in accordance with the state government’s directives. The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust has also identified 11 historic structures on the Ram Janmabhoomi campus that will be conserved and restored to their original state. Kuber Tila, Sita Koup, Sita Rasoi and Nal, Neel, Angad, and Sugreev Tila are among the 11 historic sites.

According to Champat Rai, the Trust’s general secretary, these 11 locations will be conserved and repaired. The Trust has chosen to hire professionals to restore these structures. “On the Ram Janmabhoomi campus, eleven structures have been found. They will all be returned to their original state. “The Trust will hire professionals to restore them,” said Dr Anil Mishra, a Trust member.

Several idols and other relics were recovered during the leveling of the Ram Janmabhoomi complex prior to the start of foundation construction on the Ram Mandir. They have also been conserved by the Trust. They will be placed at the projected Ram Janmabhoomi museum.
