Maharashtra: Govt slashes tax on petrol by Rs five and diesel by Rs 3 per litre

The Maharashtra government today slashed tax on petrol by five rupees per litre and 3 rupees on diesel. Announcing this decision after the state cabinet meeting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the reduction in petrol and diesel prices will put 6000 crore rupees burden on the State’s exchequer.

He also said that slashing the prices of petrol and diesel will help in bringing down inflation.

The Chief Minister also announced that state government will facilitate centres booster dose programme for the age group of 18 to 59. He said a booster dose will bring down the Covid-19 positivity rate and the active caseload.
