Relations with Bangladesh, one of India’s most important neighboring countries, have received a new flight. Actually the relations between the two countries have completed 50 years and on this occasion Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria went there on the special invitation of the neighboring country. The matter of enhancing mutual cooperation was discussed on this 4-day Sadbhavna Yatra.
Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria, who went to Bangladesh on a four-day goodwill visit at the invitation of the Bangladeshi Air Force Chief, held several bilateral talks to strengthen relations between the two countries. He began his tour by paying tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 liberation struggle. He also visited the major operational bases of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF). The visit of the Chief of Air Force has further strengthened the bonds of professional relations of the two countries and the friendship between the two Air Forces.
BN Forward Base Visit
Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria reached Bangladesh on 22 February. Wreathed the ‘Shikha Anirban’ (eternal flame) on 23 February and paid tribute to the brave men of the Bangladesh Armed Forces who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1971 liberation struggle. He then visited the Zahrul Haq Airbase of Bangladesh Air Force with the Indian delegation, where he was welcomed by the Air Commanding Officer. CAS visited flight units and interacted with BAF aircrew and personnel. He also visited the BN Forward Base in St. Martin, where he was hosted by the Air Commanding Officer of Bangladesh Air Force.
Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, who visited Bangladesh to complete 50 years of relations between the two countries, met Bangladesh Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed on 24 February and officially discussed matters of mutual cooperation. Armed forces from both sides discussed ways to advance bilateral cooperation matters during and after the 1971 war. The Chief of the Indian Air Force also visited the Air Force Headquarters of Bangladesh and met Air Marshal Sihuzabaman Sarbat, the Chief of the Bangladeshi Air Force.
RKS Bhadoria to guard of honor
Bhadauria was given the Guard of Honor after discussing ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the air forces of the two countries. Both heads expressed satisfaction at the significant progress made in cooperation and agreed to further enhance the relationship. CAS was inducted into ‘Mirpur Hall of Fame’ at Defense Services Command and Staff College, Bangladesh. He is a proud alumnus of Defense Services Command and Staff College and attended the 18th Air Staff Course at Mirpur in 1997-98.
The Chief of the Air Force visited Bangladesh’s Air Base Matiur Rehman Jashore on the third day of his tour on Thursday where he was welcomed by the AOC and other senior officers of the airbase. This airbase is the headquarters of Bangladesh Air Force Academy. Airchief Marshal Bhadoria was briefed about the training pattern of BAFA. This was followed by interactions with officers, jawans and faculty. The Air Force Chief paid tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at 32 Dhanmondi on the last day of his visit today. Bangladesh is celebrating the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation this year. He also visited the Liberation War Museum in Agargaon Dhaka today, where he got the opportunity to see the historical history of Bangladesh’s liberation struggle for the first time.
