The COVID-19 recovery rate in the country has touched 97.33 per cent. The Health Ministry said, in the last 24 hours, 11,833 people were discharged. Till now, 1,06,44,858 people have recovered from the COVID-19 infection. In the last 24 hours, 11,610 new cases were reported. With this, the total number of cases have reached 1,09,37,320.
Meanwhile, around 90 lakh people have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in the country so far. The total cumulative vaccination coverage includes over 64 lakh health care workers and over 25 lakh frontline workers. The Union Health Ministry said, in the last 24 hours, over 2,76,000 health care workers were vaccinated.
Eight states account for 57.8 per cent of the total vaccine doses administered in India. Uttar Pradesh alone accounts for 10.4 per cent. As of yesterday, a total of 36 cases of hospitalization and 29 cases of deaths have been reported so far from people who have been vaccinated. Out of the 36 cases of hospitalisation, 22 were discharged after treatment. The Ministry said, out of the 29 deaths, 17 deaths are outside hospital whereas 12 are in the hospital.
