In such a situation, where people are turning to signal and telegram as an alternative to WhatsApp for a few days, now the micro-blogging site has emerged as an Indian app ‘Koo’ option for Twitter.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also discussed the “Koo” app in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. In India, there have been talks on indigenous apps for a long time, and many apps have also come.
In the same series, Uncompensable Radhakrishna, co-founder and CEO of Koo App, took his step forward in this direction and brought in the Made in India microblogging app. The app was second among the winners of the government’s self-sustaining App Innovation Challenge last year. Along with this, this app was considered as the best daily essential app of Google Playstore for 2020.
Many Union Ministers took ‘Ku’ stance
At the same time, there has been a dispute between the government and microblogging platform Twitter after the ban on content and many accounts on Twitter for the last few days. Amidst all this, many Union ministers and government departments are creating their accounts on Twitter as an alternative on the Made-in-India Koo app.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal also gave this information on Tuesday and said, “I am on Kuo app now. Join me on this Indian micro-blogging platform. Let us exchange our thoughts and ideas on Koo. ” Apart from Piyush Goyal, many other ministers and ministries have also started using the Kuo app.
Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad already has a verified handle on Koo. Other government departments such as the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, and MyGovIndia, are also present on the Kuo app. More than 10 lakh people have installed this app so far.
These companies gave funds to the app
The app recently raised $ 4.1 million from a group of investors, including former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai’s 3one4 Capital, an entity backed by Excel Partners, Kalari Capital, Blum Ventures and Dream Incubator.
