Massive search and rescue operations are on for the missing AN-32 Aircraft in Arunachal Pradesh.
The IAF aircraft lost contact from the base on Monday afternoon, somewhere in Arunachal Pradesh after it took-off for Mechhuka Advance Landing Ground from Jorhat in Assam.
A joint search operation by civil police, Airforce and army is underway in an area of about 2500 square kilometres falling under Kaying and Payum circle of Siang District in the state. Till now,exact location is not found.
An official release from the Chief Minister’s Office said that three persons of Tumbin village who were working at their field have reportedly saw a thick black smoke at an aerial distance of about 7 to 8 KM towards the Molo village. This fact is also being verified.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has asked the concerned Deputy Commissioners to intensify the search operations and also appealed to the villagers of the adjoining areas falling in the probable route of the aircraft to provide any sort of information to the nearest administrative headquarters or police outposts.
