Gunfight between security forces and terrorists in J&K’s Kupwara; security tightened in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government definitely means business. It has started its endeavour of fulfilling his vow to crush terrorism.

The security forces are exchanging fire with terrorists in Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources believe that two or three terrorists are trapped in Babagund village of Langate area in Handwara in this district.

The encounter started in the early hours of Friday and no casualties have been reported so far.

Meanwhile, due to the tensions between India and Pakistan, security has been tightened in Odisha state. The authorities have provided tight security to all vital establishments and important installations, including those related to defence.

Odisha police and central agencies such as Coast Guard, Army, CISF, CRPF and BSF held a meeting at the State Secretariat. Odisha chief secretary Aditya Padhi chaired the meeting.

Odisha, on the east coast, has a 485 kilometre long sea coastline and has many defence and strategic establishments.
