Delhi Development Authority has provided a major relief to 50 thousand shop owners in Delhi. It dropped conversion charges in 100 top markets and relaxed norms for household industrial units in residential areas.
The civic body, in a meeting chaired by Lt Governor Anil Baijal yesterday, also approved converting 81 rural villages into urban villages and raising limit of amalgamation of land plots from earlier 64 square metres to 200 square metres.
In a tweet, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar termed the decison to abolish conversion charges as a huge relief for over 50 thousand shop owners. He said these shop owners can now work honestly without fear or favour.
