In a case of online fraud, a man robbed a 69-year-old elderly woman of Rs eight lakhs after he became her friend using social networking site Facebook. An FIR has been registered in this case against the fraud under the IT Act in Chandan Nagar Police station in Pune, according to the Maharashtra Times.
According to the reports, the accused emotionally targetted the woman to gain her trust. After this, he frequented the woman’s house. And one day on the pretext of having dinner with her, he stole jewellery worth Rs eight lakhs from the woman’s house.
In this case, the 43-year-old son of the elderly woman has lodged a complaint against the accused, one Anil Nanwani, with the police.
