The Chief Executive of the Labour Fund, Tamkeen, met with the Ambassador of Thailand to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H. E. Thanis Na Song Khla, to discuss matters of mutual interest. During the discussions, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Office of Small and Medium Enterprises – Promotion of Thailand (OSMEP) to foster collaboration in the entrepreneurial environment of both the countries. The aim of the MoU is to promote and develop the startup ecosystems and provide facilities for their expansion which in turn will boost economic growth and facilitate jobs creation.
H.E. Thanis Na Song Khla noted the long standing history of the bilateral relations between Bahrain and Thailand, especially in the trade sector, which gave an impetus to this collaboration. Tamkeen’s Chief Executive Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi also praised this partnership as akey step towards fostering entrepreneurship in both the countries. The partnership’s activities will include exchange of study visits, training and sharing of expertise and introduction of programs for SMEs.
