The Hindi University which was established to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dreams and to spread Hindi among the masses of the world, is now constantly in the headlines of newspapers and news channels. Politics in the university is as important for the students as quality education. Although if the quantity of education is high, then also it is a good sign for a university, but when politics becomes more important than studies for the students, then that university deviates from the path of progress.
This is the current situation of Hindi University, where, in the name of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, a certain ideology of the Left has targeted Dr. Dharvesh Katheria, the Dalit Registrar of Hindi University. They are working to prove every work being done in the university as wrong.
Recently, a pseudo attempt is being made to hype up a new issue in which it is being said that Ambedkar Study Circle used to read Ambedkar’s articles and books every Thursday in front of Ambedkar’s statue situated in front of the Bodhisatva Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bhawan of the university which has been banned by the Registrar Dr. Dharvesh Katheria, whereas this is just a conspiracy to defame the Dalit Registrar. The Registrar had given permission in writing to Professor L. Karunyakara, the patron of Ambedkar Study Circle, to organize this program in any building of the university and said that in an international university, people look at you with astonishment when you conduct such a program by sitting on the ground. Despite that, the patron of Ambedkar Study Circle remained adamant on organizing the program on the ground. After that, 3 members of Ambedkar Study Circle resigned from it one by one.
It is obvious that when there are differences among the members of Ambedkar Study Circle and they are resigning. On talking to some students who go to Ambedkar Study Circle, they told that many times anti-Brahmin things were also said in the program. In such a situation, it is important to identify the people who make baseless allegations on the Registrar. Registrar himself comes from the Dalit community and he is often seen giving the message of taking inspiration from Ambedkar’s works from the stage. People associated with this ideology are not able to tolerate Dr. Dharvesh Katheria, who comes from the Dalit community, either as Registrar or as a teacher. Recently, a teacher of the university had made an indecent comment about Dr. Katheria on his Facebook. At that time, the Patron-in-Charge of Ambedkar Study Circle was the Vice Chancellor but he did not take any action. Therefore, it is very important that this politics in the name of Baba Saheb should stop.
