Warfare has changed, India must be self-reliant in defence: RSS Chief

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that since warfare has changed to a new mode like proxy war and cyber attack, our country should become self-reliant in the defence sector. He said, while the defence forces and government are doing their duties, the real strength lies in the society. Dr. Bhagwat was addressing the valedictory function of Karyakarta Vikas Varg-2 at Reshimbag in Nagpur yesterday. Former Union Minister and Tribal Leader Aravind Netam was the chief guest at the valedictory function.

Stressing the importance of the unity of the society, Sarsanghachalak said, people should not fall into the trap of those playing the victim card and make hate speeches. He said the society should cultivate harmony, good behaviour and cooperation. Dr Bhagwat said, the tribal society is not separate, and it is the base of our civilisation. He also said that the training camp – Karyakarta Vikas Varg, which has been held since 1927 in Nagpur, is giving character to full volunteers to the society.

In his address, Mr Netam said a stringent law should be made to prevent forced religious conversion. He also called for taking all stakeholders into confidence in this regard.

The Karyakarta Vikas Varg is a training camp for swayamsevaks to increase their understanding, capability and capacity. About 840 volunteers coming from various academic and professional backgrounds have attended this 25-day training camp, which began on the 11th of last month.

Volunteers performed various demonstrations, including Yogasana, during this valedictory function of the 25-day training camp.
