Voting begins for 4th and final phase of Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh

Polling has begun for fourth and final phase of Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh. The polling, which began at 7 this morning, will end 6 PM. More than 2 crore 98 lakh voters are expected to exercise their franchise in 17 districts.

State Election Commission has issued orders for strict compliance of Covid protocol during the polling. Voters will have to put up mask and maintain social distancing. Instructions have also been issued to make circles at a distance of six-feet at the polling centres.
 
The counting of votes will be taken up on May 2.
