Having won the inaugural edition of the World T20 in 2007 under MS Dhoni’s leadership, the Men in Blue have since failed to win the coveted title in the next 4 attempts. They finished as runner-ups at the 2014 edition, going down to eventual winners Sri Lanka.
The 2-Test series against Bangladesh will provide a great opportunity for India to further strengthen their top-ranking in the ongoing World Test Championship. Virat Kohli’s team have won all 5 of their WTC matches so far (2 vs West Indies, 3 vs South Africa). India are currently sitting atop the World Test Championship points table with 240 points from 3 Tests so far.
