Speaking at the eleventh graduation ceremony of Ambedkar law University in Chennai today, he said that legal institutions and education must also be tailored to meet the modern demands like expertise in cyber crime, intellectual property violations, international law.
Expressing happiness at the introduction of a five-year integrated program of Bachelor of Computer Applications and law at the University, he told that this was a best way to train the future lawyers to be competent, front-ranking legal professionals in the emerging world where technology will continue to be an important tool to improve governance India is at a crucial transformative phase in its developmental journey.
The Vice President told that police reforms and jail modernisation should go hand in hand with reforms in the judicial system. He told that there was a need to refine our systems to make them citizen-friendly.
