Veteran Bollywood actress Kumkum, who appeared in many films like Mother India, Kohinoor, Ujala, Ek Sapera Ek Lootera, and Naya Daur, among others, died at the age of 86 on Tuesday. Her death was confirmed by Johnny Walker’s son, actor Nasirr Khan on Twitter.
Kumkum made her Bollywood debut as a dancer in 1954 with the song Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar Laaga Teere Nazar from the film Aar Paar. She then went on to act in several successful films including Raja Aur Runk, Geet, Aankhen, and Lalkar, to name a few.
In her career, while she worked with a number leading actors, she is best remembered for her films with Kishore Kumar. Kumkum was introduced by Guru Dutt.

In later life, she worked in Bhojpuri films and earned a name for herself.
