Uttar Pradesh government launched School Chalo Abhiyan today to ensure 100% enrolment in primary and upper primary schools.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kicked off the campaign from Shravasti, which is an aspirational district and has one of the lowest literacy rates in the state.
after a gap of two years, the schools are reopening in April and the state government is putting all efforts to bring children back to school.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while launching the School Chalo Abhiyan from Shravasti, said the government has successfully handled the challenge of Covid pandemic but now a bigger task is to get children back to schools. He added it is the duty of every parent to enrol their child in school.
The Chief Minister said in the last five years the state government has revamped schools under Operation Kayakalp. He said basic facilities like infrastructure, toilets and electricity were provided to primary and upper primary schools. He praised the legislators, government officials and the alumni for adopting the schools and helping them revamped. After launching the campaign, the chief minister reached the venue where children were having mid-day meal and served them food.
