US space agency NASA lauds India’s Chandrayaan-2 mission

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) ha commend the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO’s) attempt to land its Chandrayaan-2 mission on the Moon. NASA took to Twitter to commend the ISRO saying, space is hard and it commend ISRO’s attempt to land their Chandrayaan-2 mission on the Moon’s the South Pole. The US space agency further added that ISRO has inspired them with their journey and look forward to future opportunities to explore the solar system together.

Meanwhile, ISRO has said that 90 to 95 per cent of the Chandrayaan-2 mission objectives have been accomplished and it would continue contributing to lunar science despite the loss of communication with the lander. The space agency said, the precise launch and mission management had ensured a long life of almost seven years instead of the planned one year for the orbiter.

Earlier in the wee hours yesterday, the lander of the lunar craft Chandrayaan-2 snapped its communication with the ground stations just minutes before its planned soft-landing on the moon.
