The Uttar Pradesh legislature will hold, a special, day-long session today to commemorate the 70 years of adoption of the Constitution.
The focus of the session will be on Constitution’s Preamble and basic duties.
A series of events have been planned in state upto Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14 to raise public awareness about the Preamble of the Constitution.
AIR correspondent reports, the session marking the Constitution Day will start with Governor Anandiben Patel addressing a joint sitting of the assembly.
During its special session, the assembly will deliberate upon the preamble of the Constitution and the ideas and philosophies of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution.
Several programmes including quiz competitions and exhibitions focusing on the Preamble of the Constitution are scheduled in schools and universities.
BJP has announced series of events in state till 30 November to commemorate the day while congress will start a series of lectures on constitution from today.
