UP govt decides to lift weekend lockdown on Sunday

In Uttar Pradesh, the State Government has decided to lift weekend lockdown on Sunday following reduction in the number of fresh cases of COVID-19 infection. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi said, however, the of weekly curb in respect of markets will remain in place. The Saturday lockdown in the state had been lifted last week.

According to order Night Curfew will continue from 10.00 P.M. to 06.00 A.M. throughout the week as earlier across the state. Shopkeepers and customers have to follow the compulsion of using Mask, Do Gaj Ki Doori and sanitization.

Meanwhile, 15 districts in state have become COVID infection free as there is not a single case. During the last 24 hours, more than two lakh 33 thousand COVID tests were conducted and no new case of COVID was found in 58 districts. During the period, only 26 new cases were detected in state. Presently, the number of total active cases of COVID in state has reduced to 408.
