On the last day of ongoing Special Outreach Programme in Jammu and Kashmir today, a delegation of four Union Ministers is visiting Chenani, Kotranka Sopore and Harwan blocks. The Ministers include Giriraj Singh, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prahlad Joshi and Ramesh Pokhriyal. The Union Ministers are meeting people to receive their feedback and suggestions for promoting public participation in developmental initiatives. The Ministers will be inaugurating various developmental projects.
The Union Ministers who have been part of Special Outreach mission in Jammu and Kashmir have reiterated that Central Government is committed for the overall development of the Union Territory, with a special focus on addressing public grievances. Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbass Naqvi, who visited the heart of Srinagar Lal Chowk said the government is trying to promote local craftsmanship in each district of Jammu and Kashmir. Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said there is positivity in the environment and a massive change on the ground. Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Parshottam Rupala said that women should be encouraged to come forward to participate in the Panchayat polls.
During the programme, which started on 18th of January, thirty six Union ministers have visited Jammu and Kashmir to disseminate information about welfare initiatives of the government. The programme will culminate today and the feedback collected will be later analyzed in detail to evolve a comprehensive mechanism for effective implementation of different schemes.
