Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Delhi CM flag off 400 DEVI e-buses to boost last-mile connectivity

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today flagged off 400 new electric buses under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector Service (DEVI service in New Delhi. The DEVI bus service aims to boost last-mile connectivity between bus terminals and metro stations and aid in reducing pollution across the National Capital. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan lauded the initiative by the Delhi government. Mr Pradhan asserted that the BJP government will transform Delhi as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Talking to the media, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta highlighted that the Delhi government aims to provide more than two thousand such buses by the end of this year. She added that the buses are specially designed for the smaller, narrower roads of Delhi, where larger buses cannot go.

Mrs Gupta also underlined that the buses are equipped with various facilities and are wheelchair accessible as well.
