Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to visit Bihar

Railways and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will visit Bihar today. Mr Vaishnaw will dedicate a newly built Rail Over Bridge (ROB) between Bettiah and Kumarbag railway station in West Champaran district. A special function has been organised this afternoon at Bettiah cantonment on this occasion. The Union Minister will also visit Bettiah railway station after arriving here from Gorakhpur.

Union Minister of State for Coal Satish Chandra Dubey, Bihar Minister Renu Devi, BJP MP Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, JD (U) Sunil Kumar and other dignitaries will also remain present on the occasion. The Union Minister will also conduct the inspection of the Bettiah- Patna rail section through window trailing. During the inspection, he will take stock of the signalling system, and the potential of this rail route and also review several projects, including Amrit Bharat stations.

Railways Ministry has made a record allotment of 10,066 crore rupees for Bihar in the financial year 2025-26. The ministry has projected that the railway will be the growth engine of Bihar through economic, development and infrastructure-related activities. 98 Amrit Bharat stations are being developed and around 90, 000 crore rupees worth of projects are currently underway in the state.
