UK to leave EU on Oct 31, reiterates PM Johnson

Boris Johnson Is Facing Allegations That He Groped Women and Misused Public Funds. Here’s What to Know

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reiterated that the United Kingdom will leave the European Union on 31st October, come what may.

He was addressing his ruling Conservative party conference in Manchester today, to unveil his plan for a new Brexit deal.

He said there should be no doubt that the only alternative to the Brexit proposals he will put to Brussels later is no-deal. Johnson said his plan would be a compromise by the UK, hoping that the EU would understand that and compromise, too.

Meanwhile, the European Commission said they will examine the proposals objectively.

Earlier, Downing Street had said Boris Johnson would table the plans in Brussels today itself. It stressed this would be a final offer, and that if the European Union does not engage, then Boris Johnson would keep to his threat to leave on October 31 with no deal.

In a statement, the Downing Street said the prime minister would in no circumstances ask to delay Brexit at a Brussels summit on October 17 and 18.
