A total 799 Van Dhan Vikas Kendra in the 24 states have been opened since the launch of Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana. These Kendra benefiting 12 lakh tribals across the country by providing market access to their products.
In an event in New Delhi today, Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited, Managing Director, Pravir Krishn said, recently concluded Aadi Mahotsav was a roaring success and in the course of 15 days, the participating 500 plus tribal artisans transacted business of worth 20 crore rupees which was a record sale.
He said, TRIFED has collaborated with the renowned fashion designer Ritu Beri to promote tribal crafts and culture across the country and the world. Mr. Krishn said, valuable suggestions have been received from Ritu Beri about the designs and marketing of the tribal’s products. On the other hand, Ritu Beri said, Tribes India is the soul of India and the products of the tribals need to be nurtured, supported and promoted to the world level.
