Kalyan: On Tuesday afternoon, there were three students who suffered minor head injuries after a portion of the cement plaster of the classroom’s roof fell on them. This incident happened at Jhulelal school in Ulhasnagar during classroom hours. The students injured are Jia Tekchandani, 16, Ishika Chugh,14 and Dia Bhatija, 15. All the three students are in tenth grade. According to the civic body, there were 45 students in the classroom. This incident happened in the case of these three students who were all seated in one row. The respective parents were informed by the school authorities regarding their child’s injuries, after which the parents rushed to the spot.
The school administration stated that this incident was minor as students suffered minor injuries and they were allowed to go home after the children were administered first aid. Yuvraj Bhadane, public relation officer of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation said, “Following the incident, our staff also visited the school and we have given instructions to the school administration to audit the structure soon. The report should be submitted before the civic body”. The parents of the students said that it is big negligence by the school authorities. If the school structures was damaged, they should have repaired it as early as possible. Does the school authority have to wait for any big tragedy?
