A team of 15 foreign envoys is currently on a two day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. It will meet different delegations in Jammu to clarify their point of view on the situation in the Union Territory.
The Ministry of External Affairs said the objective of the visit is to give Envoys an opportunity to see firsthand efforts of the government to normalise the situation. Yesterday, the team met Lieutenant Governor G.C. Murmu and top brass of the administration and Army. The were briefed about the prevailing situation in the Union Territory, especially in the Valley after the abrogation of Article 370.
The team met scores of delegations comprising political leaders, civil society groups and youth activists in Srinagar and also had a meeting with some of the editors of the local newspapers.
