Mumbai: Spencer Fernandes played the lead role scoring two goals to guide Seven Star Digital SC to a convincing 4-2 win against Athletics Club Mumbai in a Third Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2019-2020 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Wednesday.
Seven Star started on a promising note and took an early lead through Vijay Naidu’s strike in the very sixth minute. Later, Spencer hit the target in the 16th minute to double the lead and nine minutes scored the third to give Seven Star a solid 3-0 half time advantage.
Athletics Club fought back and managed to reduce the deficit with Michael Noronha, Rohan Rane scoring a goal each before Kevin Fernandes netted the fourth goal to secure Seven Stars victory.
In another match, Oranje FC ‘B’ prevailed over Veer Engineering SC by a 2-0 margin. Strikers Sairaj Parle and Amrinder Singh struck a goal apiece to complete Orange FC’s victory.
