Special CBI court to pronounce quantum of punishment against Lalu Prasad Yadav in fifth fodder scam case

A special CBI court in Ranchi will pronounce the quantum of punishment against RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in fifth and last Fodder scam case today. Lalu was convicted in the case on 15th of this month. The case pertains to illegal and fraudulent withdrawl of more than 139 crore rupees from Doranda Treasury in Jharkhand when Lalu was Chief Minister of undivided Bihar.

all arrangements have been made for RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav in RIMS hospital situated in Ranchi for online hearing of judgement in the final case of Fodder Scam. A laptop and an operator has been arranged at the Special Ward of RIMS for the hearing of the case to begin at 12 noon today. Special CBI Judge SK Shashi had convicted 75 people in the case, while 38 people were sent to judicial custody after the court gave its final decision on 15 February. Lalu Prasad had been shifted to special paying ward at RIMS due to his medical condition.

Lalu Prasad has already been convicted in four other Fodder scam cases.
