In a spine-chilling incident, a 26-year-old delivery boy in New Delhi allegedly committed suicide after sending a WhatsApp message to his family. The delivery boy’s message read, “Sorry mummy papa. Please forgive me. My dead body would be under the ITO Bridge.”
The victim was identified as Harsh Khandelwal. And, the police recovered the body three days after the WhatsApp message near Yamuna River in Delhi. The incident took place when Harsh went out with six of his friends on the night of June 30 to go to Murthal to celebrate one of his friends’ wife’s birthday. But family and close relatives were shocked when they received a WhatsApp message on July 1 which read, “Sorry mummy papa. Please forgive me. My scooter, purse and other things would be at ITO flyover and my body would be under the ITO Bridge.”
After reading the message, Harsh’s family reached ITO Bridge where they found his belongings but not his body. Later, his family filed a missing complaint at Indraprastha Estate police station. The family has alleged that the police did not pay much heed to their complaint at that time. Harsh’s body was recovered after three days on July 3 (Wednesday) at 3 pm from the Yamuna River. The body was recovered after some rag pickers saw the body.
Harsh’s family has alleged that it was a murder, as he had spoken to them on July 1 in the morning and that is when he told them that he will be at home in some time. But, after a few minutes, they got the WhatsApp message. The police told the leading news channel that Harsh lived in Chandni Chowk with his family of four people including his married sister. He is the only son. He worked as a delivery boy in an online firm. The cops are now interrogating the victim’s friends and investigating the case.
