President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received Indian Ambassador to Bahrain H.E. Alok Kumar Sinha and discussed with him ways of bolstering bilateral cooperation in the cultural field.

Shaikha Mai praised the ambassador’s interest in the cultural movement in Bahrain, pointing out the importance of boosting cultural exchange between the two friendly countries. She also shed light on “Little India” project which was launched to promote coexistence and openness characterizing Manama. It was launched in December 2015 and covers an area of 5000 square meters in the heart of Mamama Souq. It incorporates three streets – Bab Al Bahrain, Avenue, Al Tijjar Avenue and Al Hadrami Avenue, which also includes the 200 year old Shreenathji Temple.
The Indian ambassador thanked Shaikha Mai for her contribution to consolidating bilateral relations, pointing out BACA’s role in enriching the cultural movement in Bahrain.
