SC transfers petitions challenging Agnipath Military Recruitment Scheme to Delhi HC

The Supreme Court today transferred petitions challenging the Agnipath Military Recruitment Scheme to the Delhi High Court. A Bench comprising Justices Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, Surya Kant and A. S. Bopanna observed that the mounting number of pleas in the matter is neither desirable nor proper.

The court also explored the option of bringing all petitions to the Supreme Court, but said, adopting such a course would deprive the Apex Court of the view of the High Courts.
