Revolution in passport services in last 5 yrs will continue to be accorded high priority: Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today said, the revolution in passport services in the last five years will continue to be accorded high priority. 

Addressing a function to celebrate the 7th Passport Seva Diwas in New Delhi, Dr Jaishankar said, his ministry will continue to focus on proactive outreach and further simplification of the rules and processes for issuing passport without compromising on legitimate security concerns. 

He said, various initiatives have been taken by the Ministry leading to a visible change in the delivery mechanism of passport services to the people. The day is celebrated every year to commemorate the enactment of Passports Act on 24th June, 1967.
