Revenue Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey today inaugurated National E-Assessment Centre and Regional E-Assessment Centers.
The National E-Assessment Center is situated in Delhi while Regional E-Assessment Centers are in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad.
The centres have been established to implement the faceless assessment system for Income Tax Return.
The establishment of such centres is aimed at eliminating the interface between Assessing Officer and Assessee to ensure greater transparency and accountability in the system. The randomised assessment of cases without human interface will be the norm now.
