Since the Galwan valley faceoff between India and China there has been an atmosphere of unrest between the two countries. As its already been two months to the faceoff but still China is not ready to disengage and de-escalate to the status quo ante of April. Due to constant change in stance by China and difference in action on ground China cannot be trusted anymore.
Although the talks between the two countries are going on at both the military and diplomatic levels but the results are not to the liking of the Indian side. To counter growing China presence India has also taken steps to cut imports and dependence upon China. Even companies from all neighbouring countries which share borders with India will now need to take permission from government to start work or invest in existing Indian companies.
With the clarion call of Atmanirbhar Bharat given by PM Narendra Modi has also added impetus to the same. So to counter expansionist China, needs to be dealt with both militarily and economically. As for what steps India needs to take are a matter of importance and dependent upon how grave the situation is.
As cleared by PM Modi that our forces are ready and given a free hand to deal with the situation with full backing of the government. Infrastructure is being made better all along the LAC and the international borders with China. Militarily India is all equipped to deal with China its on the diplomatic front that China needs to be countered with a change in strategy. India has already started to improve relations with Taiwan and also needs to raise issues about problems in Hong Kong or the suppression of minorities in Uyghur where large scale human rights violations are being done. India also needs to focus on South China Sea and support countries like Vietnam , Philipines amongst others who are facing Chinese aggression.
With many countries like US, Japan , Australia , Israel , France , Russia amongst others have supported India some have followed by banning various Chinese applications over security issues. Huawei , Bytedance (TikTok) , ZTE are some companies which are facing the heat.
Already China is being cornered and aggressive India should make it understand that it’s a New India under the able leadership of PM Narendra Modi which is ready to take it head on and defeat it comfortably. Coming months will be crucial in shaping the basis of outcome in relationship to China.
