Redmi Note 8 3GB RAM model launches in India, is cheaper than existing models

Xiaomi initially launched the Redmi Note 8 in two variants in India. The base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The second or the top-end model of the phone with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both the models of the Redmi Note 8 are selling in India and the demand is pretty high. Xiaomi now launches a new variant of the Redmi Note 8 with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

According to a report from 91Mobiles, the Redmi Note 8 3GB RAM model will be available on offline stores only, at least for now. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 9,799. The new model of the Redmi Note 8 is the cheap of them all. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model of the Redmi Note 8 sells with a starting price of Rs 9,999. The top-end model of the Redmi Note 8 with 6GB RAM comes with a price of Rs 12,999. The 4GB and 6GB RAM versions of the phone are available on offline as well as online stores – via flash sales.

The new variant of the Redmi Note 8 is different from other models only in terms of RAM and storage. The phone comes with a 6.39-inch full HD+ display with 2340 × 1080 pixels resolution. The screen of the Redmi Note 8 is protection with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The back of the phone is also protected with GG5.

The Redmi Note 8 is powered by 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 665 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s also expandable storage support. The phone runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie and will get upgraded to Android 10 soon.

On the rear panel, there are four cameras in addition to the fingerprint sensor. The phone includes 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there’s a 13MP selfie shooter. The Redmi Note 8 includes a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. The phone comes with USB Type C support.
