Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the state officials in Visakhapatnam. Mr Singh reviewed the progress of ongoing defence infrastructure projects and proposals of the Indian Navy.
He directed the concerned officials to continue the proactive Civil-Military Synergies and cooperation between the Navy and the state government to expedite the progress of various naval projects.
Mr Singh also interacted with the Naval personnel and civilians in Visakhapatnam today as part of his maiden visit to Eastern Naval Command. He visited several ships and submarines of the Command.
As part of his tour, Mr Singh was apprised on the operational readiness of the Command and other relevant aspects of maritime and coastal security.
