Railways will not levy freight charges on relief material sent to the flood-affected states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala.
The Ministry has issued directions to all General Managers to permit inter-state and intra-state free transport of aid and relief material without any charges.
All government organizations and other agencies can book relief material for free of cost to the affected states. The guidelines will remain effective till 31st of this month.
In a tweet, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal urged the people and organizations to send as much as relief material to the flood affected states.
