Railways has created a record by delivering more than 26 thousand 281 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen to fifteen states across the country. The Railways Ministry said it is continuing the journey of bringing relief by delivering Medical Oxygen to various states and so far 376 Oxygen Expresses have completed their mission.
The Ministry said, oxygen relief by Oxygen Expresses reached out to 15 states namely Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Telangana, Punjab, Kerala, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Assam.
Railways is picking up oxygen from places like Hapa, Baroda, Mundra in the West and Rourkela, Durgapur, Tatanagar, Angul in the East and then delivering it to various states. Oxygen Expresses had started their deliveries 43 days back on 24th April in Maharashtra.
The Ministry said, Southern States of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have received more than three thousand tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen each from Oxygen Expresses.
