In Badminton, P.V. Sindhu will meet Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in the women’s singles final of Indonesia Open in Jakarta today.
This is the first time in her career that Sindhu has made it to Indonesia Open final. In the semifinal yesterday, Sindhu outclassed Chen Yu Fei of China 21-19, 21-10 in just 46 minutes.
This is Sindhu’s fifth win over Chen Yu Fei in 8 meetings so far. Meanwhile, Sindhu enjoys a dominant head-to-head record against her finalist Yamaguchi.
Sindhu has been in fine form in the ongoing tournament. She is the only remaining Indian contender in the tournament. The likes of Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Sai Praneeth were defeated in the earlier stages.
