INDIAN COAST GUARD SEIZES 15 KG GOLD IN JOINT
ANTI-SMUGGLING OPERATION

In a joint anti-smuggling operations by Indian Coast Guard and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), one fishing boat alongwith 02 personnel were apprehended on 03 March 2020 at Mandapam, Tamil Nadu. Further, on 04 Mar 20, Coast Guard Hovercraft H-197 and Interceptor Craft IC-114 undertook diving operations at sea in the Gulf of Mannar and recovered one cloth package containing 05 black packs and same was brought ashore. On investigation, it was established to be approx. 15 Kgs Gold worth approx. Rs 6.3 Crores at prevailing Market Rates. The same has been handed over to DRI officials for further formalities.
