President Kovind leaves for India

Melbourne [Australia], Nov 24: President Ram Nath Kovind and First Lady Savita Kovind have left for India from Melbourne, Australia after concluding a six-day visit to Vietnam and Australia.
During the first leg of his visit to Vietnam, the President addressed the National Assembly and met with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Phu Trong and agreed to strengthen relations in defence, civil nuclear energy outer space, oil and gas, infrastructure, agriculture and innovation-based sectors.
He also held discussions with Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc on a wide range of issues of mutual interest including trade, energy and regional security.
In the final leg of his visit, President Kovind visited the cities of Sydney and Melbourne.
While in Sidney, the President unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. He also addressed the Australian Financial Review India Business Summit.
In Melbourne, President Kovind met with Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau. The President also addressed the student at the Melbourne University.
